VanIsle Group Make & Takes - Part 4

This is my first post for today. The Weekly Deals post will come later today.

I'm sharing a card with you today from the VanIsle Make & Takes that I was super excited to try. I have always wanted to use the Bokeh (photography term pronounced like bouquet) technique, but have never gotten to doing it. And this card is it!

Now I must say that the Demonstrator's card had silver sequins on it, but I don't have any and used my Rhinestones. I think it looks better with the sequins. I also didn't have a glue pen, so my glittered circle edges don't look as good because I used a quick dry glue. But I still had fun and learned a new technique that I've wanted to try for a while now.

In making your circle (or other shapes) template for applying the Craft White Ink, you can use either punches or dies. When I try this again I will create a video for you on two different ways to used this technique.

Hope you are inspired to either make another Bokeh card or try this for your first time too.

Happy stamping!

VanIsle Group Make & Takes - Part 3

This next Make & Take I'm sharing with you, would make a great masculine card.

For this card i learned how to use your Aqua Painter on the stamp and then stamp with it! A great unique look. I got two different looking feathers with this technique (the 1st & 3r ones).

Here is a look at the layering from the side...

...and a look at the work station before we began.

You can see here how the Demonstrator cut things out of the white mat for the Gorgeous Grunge Smoky Slate piece. Great way to save cardstock!

Hope you are inspired even further. It's fun sharing with you.

Happy stamping!

VanIsle Group Make & Takes - Part 2

I just love this card we made as one of our Make & Takes! We used the masking tape technique to colour the background of the center piece of this card. It was so easy, and amazing. Love the look!

I'm going to try this with other stamps, and see how it turns out. The next photo is the two cards at the work station for this make & take, where the card is shown a step up with further additions to the design.

This simple card is one of my favorites of the Make & Takes. Hope you are inspired to create something using the masking tape colouring technique.

Happy stamping!

VanIsle Group Make & Takes - Part 1

OK, so now you've seen the cards that I made for the swap, and you've seen the cards that others made. Now it time to show you some of the Make & Takes that I made. There were 11 or 12 to set up, but I only wanted to make _ of them.
Today, let's begin with this cute little 'Mini Treat Bag' and pull out card with a gift card pocket. This is how you see it, first. just a bit of pink flower peeking, inviting you to pull it out.

This bag is made with the Festive Designer Kraft Paper Rolls (which is now on the Clearance Rack for $4.89 CAN) and the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit dies.

The leaves are from the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set. You can use any sentiment stamp you wish.

And, I forgot to put a gift card in the little patterned pocket for you to see, but it is a pocket.

This project is actually quite quick, and of course, fun to make!

The following are photos of the Make & Take work station before we all began working.

Hope you are inspired to create your own little bag with gift card holder.

Thank you for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Card Swap - Part 2

Welcome back! Here are the last six of the 11 cards I received at the VanIsle Stampin' Up meeting card swap.

So let's have a closer look at them. Each photo has the name of the Stampin' Up Demonstrator that created it.

This first one is made with two of my favorite stamps & punches.

This one is a lot of fun with lots of paper layering details.

So there you have the 11 cards I received at the VanIsle Group meeting 'Thank You' card swap. Hope you enjoyed the tour the last two days and are inspired. I didn't participate in the 'Birthday' or All Ocassion' card swaps, but there were some great cards created there too.

Over the next few days I will be sharing the Make & Takes I did at the meeting, so come back tomorrow.

Happy Stamping everyone!

Card Swap - Part 1

Continuing on with the VanIsle Group meeting goodies I'm sharing, today I will show you five of the 11 'Thank You' cards I received at the swap.

I'll show you each card individually and each photo will have the name of the Stampin' Up Demonstrator that created the card.

Love the added glitter in the flower centers on this card. Next is the inside.

Fun detail on this image! See how it is layered, next.

Beautiful butterfly on this card, and check out the stamp inside the card.

And, the last one I'm showing you today is using the fun Bokeh Technique.

Swapping cards is a lot of fun! Hope that you are inspired by the designs of these Stampin' Up Demonstrators. Tomorrow I will show the remaining six, and then I will share some of the things I made at the Make & Takes. Feel free to ask any questions about these cards.

Happy Stamping!

Thank You Text Frame

Yesterday, I mentioned about attending the Vancouver Island Stampin' Up meeting in Naniamo on Saturday. I also mentioned that I participated in a Thank You card swap. there were three different swap categories we could enter. We could enter one, two, or all three categories. Since this was my first time, I opted to enter one, the "Thank You" category.

Because I wanted to create a text, or sentiment, frame, I chose to create a side fold square card.

Again, I did not use Whisper White, but used Naturals White because the flecks in the cardstock go so well with the Crumb Cake cardstock.

I used the Sheltering Tree flower/leaves stamp of the set to create the dotted border in the center square. In the 2" circle I stamped the Indescribable Gift blossom branch and used a Dauber to gently ink the center of the blossoms. I also stamped a second section of the stamp to fussy cut out the one blossom that I popped up with a dimensional after colouring the center in the same manner.

It may have been better to have fussy cut just the center of the blossom rather than the entire blossom, so I will try that in the future. I really like the effect of the text/sentiment frame and will definitely be using that idea again.

Why don't you give creating a text frame a try on your next card! You can see waht I used to make this card, below.

Happy stamping!
